SMSTS questions
Is the split-week option accepted?
Yes. Providers run SMSTS as five consecutive days or one day a week over five weeks. Both give the same certificate.
What if my certificate has expired?
You will need the full course again. If it is still in date, the 2-day refresher applies — we can book either.
Who should attend the SMSTS course?
Site managers, project managers, agents and anyone with day-to-day control of a construction site. Supervisors usually take SSSTS instead.
How long is the SMSTS certificate valid?
Five years. You then take the 2-day SMSTS Refresher to keep it current, ideally before the expiry date.
Can the 5 days be split up?
Yes. Many providers run the course as blocks over several weeks so you keep site cover. Tell us your preference and we will match a date.
